A Manifesto of Making

In a world quick to label anything handmade as "made with love," I choose different words.

More precise words. Words that carry the weight of true craftsmanship.

This work is born of grit – that unrelenting force that pushes through obstacles, that refuses to settle for "good enough." It emerges from a meticulousness that borders on obsession, where every knot must speak of intention, every pattern must tell a story of persistence and purpose.

What drives my work isn't love – it's determination. Determination to create something that lasts. Determination to master a craft that connects us to centuries of makers before us. Determination to find control in the chaos, to weave order into an uncertain reality.

Some might call this intensity excessive. I call it necessary. Because in a world where so much feels fleeting, where "love" itself can sometimes ring hollow, we need something more substantial. We need passion that speaks of permanence. Art that promises to endure.

This isn't about rejecting gentler forms of creation. It's about acknowledging that sometimes, love manifests as relentless pursuit. As unwavering focus. As the fierce joy of bringing something into being through sheer force of will.

Each piece that leaves my hands carries within it hours of focused breath, countless moments of decision, and yes – an intensity that transforms simple fiber into something meaningful. This isn't just macramé. This is dedication made tangible. This is resilience given form.

So call it handmade with love if you must. But know that this love has teeth. It has muscle. It has the kind of commitment that turns craft into legacy.

This is what I make.

This is how I make it.

This is why it matters.
